Mom's Progress

Hi to all! Kim, hearing your grandfather's progress reminded that I needed to update all on my mom as well. I am glad he is doing well and I bet he looked just as cute in surgery with no hair as he did at the beach that year.

Mom had a great report last week at the doctor. We have found out that the gammaknife procedure in her brain was a success and they see no further growth of the places in her brain. All are measuring smaller and there are no new mets. She had her 3rd round of chemo today and it went well. The rest of the week with get progressively tough, but the other two rounds have gone well and we are hopeful that this will continue to be the trend. Thanks for keeping her in you r prayers. Hope you all are doing well and enjoying maybe some break time with Spring Breaks and a change in routine.

My Grandfather's surgery

My Grandfather had his hip replacement surgery this morning. He did great. Kellie, you should see the size of his room! Yours was a closet in comparison. He had it done at the NC Specialties Hospital (or something like that) near Chick-fil-a on Roxboro Rd. Laurie, he did not wear his hair to surgery.
The sister cruise was wonderful -- I may get some pics up soon. The room made the trip. Having huge windows and a balcony made it such a nice place to be. We even got to share the gospel with a Jamaican man on Grand Cayman Island. Our excursion was canceled because of rough surf and we ended up wandering around -- a God-thing for sure. Tag-team gospel -- great way to share.

I've already found one thing I want to change so if you're going to order your own copy for delivery to your home, please DON"T ORDER THIS EDITION. I will upload a new edition probably Friday after you've all had a chance to comment. You may not be able to read the journaling clearly -- i have proofed and proofed it. If you are concerned about it and can't see it, call me and I'll read it to you.

Please email me directly with any input in case I don't get back to the blog or FB before then -- I thought about giving FB up for Lent, but I've changed my mind. Giving up lattes is easier!! (:

Pranks and sabotage - you got him good!

When my boys got home, I told them that you all had been startled by the alarm clocks going off and the shoes in the pillowcase and all of their little pranks. But it was night time before Ben discovered that the his room had been sabotaged in return!

When Doug and I got back from going out to dinner, Ben came running down the stairs.

"Mom there is something strange going on with my bed!" he told me as soon as he saw me. "And there is a weird potato in my bathroom!" I don't think he'd ever been a short-sheeting victim before, but he was most freaked out by the potato. And there were so many little notes and things that he didn't know when something was going to come at him next!!!

We had a good laugh, and Ben wanted to know if our house was going to be "invaded" again this weekend! We could only be so fortunate!! (:
